January 27th.

This is kind of the mood i’m in. In hindsight it looks like i’m posing but i’m not, I just have a few complaints. Mostly just people and why I hate them, why they feel above others yet they have their own flaws. It’s just disgusting and it’d be lovely if people didn’t turn their nose up at others. 

I’m currently finding it harder to stay in contact with people. When someone’s having a birthday in Nottingham, I just feel like an absolute dick when I turn around and say, “actually, I love you to bits but I can’t come to your party because i’m in a different city altogether”. I’m missing most of my amazing friends growing up and the fact that I want to go away for most of Summer is going to strain that a lot more.

I don’t give a damn if people don’t like depressing stuff like this. I’m being human, get over yourself. 

January 26th.

I’ve been very relaxed on this entire thing. Whoops.

Last night I recorded and interview for the radio with the lovely Dan and Luke who kindly took me in to the comfort of their own home and made me the best cup of tea i’ve ever had. My good friends Ross and Chris assembled and suddenly, it became a musketeers night, at the pub quiz. We finally decided on the name “Purple Mountain” after Wild Antelope and Hungry Caterpillar were shot down imminently. Went to Snobs after, and just got excitedly drunk to the point where, i’m pretty sure, I couldn’t walk.

January 24th.

Hi there, been a while, come here often? Let me buy you a drink!

I left my laptop at uni as a testament that I can indeed survive without it for a couple of days. I did. Test over. 

For todays catchup of the “me in 2012” series, here’s me with a business card of myself. Isn’t that not two in one go? Oh well…stay tuned! ;)

Dave Mcpherson was an absolutely humble guy to support, I feel awful how I spoke to him at the merch table but I didn’t buy anything due to my measly student income (our more like giant outcome with rent, trains, whores etc to pay for). He was very supportive despite the fact I thought he’d be like “Yeah yeah yeah, i’m Dave Mcpherson, WHERE’S MY BLOWJOB!“…But yeah.

My set was amazing, I don’t wanna say what I played because that’d ruin some upcoming gigs I have and there’s some real treats in there that went down especially well last night. A fair amount of people came up to me after my set and spoke to me, I had some pretty fucked up conversations overall but not as worse as my awful stage banter (eg. “This song is about sex and my nan…it’s about “Women I Belong To” thus titled. I have not had sex with my nan…Just listen to the lyrics…”)

I discovered a band called Bush. I really like them. How have I not heard of this band before. The dude is married to Gwen Stefani. Is he her hollaback boy?

I’ve almost finished “Paper Towns” by John Green, I reckon I might get back to that right now.

January 18th.

Say goodbye hair! As of tomorrow morning, this shaggy fuzzball nesting on my head is being tamed until next haircut!

I went to the cinema for the first time since Toy Story 3 came out, never really been a huge fan of the one in my hometown of Nottingham but the one in Birmingham is amazing. Loved it. Saw “The Artist”, it’s not my usual cup of tea, being a silent film, (i’ve not watched many silent films bar “Metropolis” and “City Lights” with Charlie Chaplin). Words can’t describe how brilliant the film was, i’m not surprised that it was sold out by the time we got there. I’m also glad that John Goodman eventually got a line in the film, I really wish that guy made audiobooks. Such an amazing voice.

Finishing up a bit of work here and there. Paid my rent. I think i’ve just about caught up. :)

January 17th.

Paedo smile.

Just cooked the best curry ever. I’m currently full to the brim with satisfaction. Chuffed. :) 

Last night we went for a lovely meal at Las Iguanas and made crêpes afterwards. Stayed up quite late and ended up writing two songs in that time.

I’ve done nothing today bar that curry. Later, I will be seeing Pandemmic live, his music is really good, you can check it out over on his own tumblr account here.

Off to watch the new How I Met Your Mother now! You should probably subscribe to me on YouTube whilst i’m doing that. ;)

January 15th.

People often ask me what that orange bag behind me in most photos is. Truth be told, I put a Sainsburys bag over my light so it emits an amazing orange glow also known as ‘mood lighting’.

Last night was a real good gathering of friends. It was a shame we had to leave early for so many different factors but it was a great night nonetheless. 

I think i’m slowly just giving up on people as a whole.

January 14th.

I’m in such a hurry so I don’t really have time for this one. Last night was absolutely incredible, I did a little speech for Ben’s birthday followed by an honorary dirty pint to celebrate. Flat party was amazing and gatecrasher was also amazing.

I had a cheeky mcdonalds on the way back and flashed the guy behind the counter for a free double cheeseburger. My lovely ladies lumps get me everywhere! I don’t really eat Mcdonalds so I probably broke my own moral high ground there, as well as drinking regular coke which I shouldn’t have. One night of fun means I can fuck about!

January 13.

I wrote this number (150) down before I went to sleep yesterday, it was the number of views on my music video for my song, “Everything, Up In Smoke”, by the time I woke up this late morning/early afternoon, it had doubled. Chuffed doesn’t describe it, thank you everyone! For those who have yet to see it, you can view it here.

I had a really boring lecture of 3 hours today that, if anything, just made me feel nervous about the future. I like working and that but I absolute hate technical jargon that everything is so well acquainted with. 

Tonight’s going to be amazing, that’s all that needs to be said on that regard. I can’t wait to just get drunk and kick off the new year properly with fistpumpingdonkey getting drunk for his birthday.

Also want music recommendations for today. Just need new music.

January 12th.

Aside from that, my night is going to consist of eating fish and chips today (as opposed to Chinese buffet/Take-away Pizza). This week is turning into one unhealthy episode but oh well. It’s only your life!

January 11th.

I woke up horrendously late today and it really annoyed me. I hate days like that where I wake up at stupid hours and get nothing done. Again, if anyone has tips for sleeping, please let me know.

I went to a place called Big Wok today which is an all you can eat chinese buffet for £6, there’s one in my home of Nottingham but i’ve not been in years. It’s not quite like the pizza hut lunchtime buffets that me and Ben frequent, by the 5th plate of food. Stacked. I felt physically sick and had to excuse myself for a while to get over the amount I devoured.

We also watched Scott Pilgrim vs the World in film society, pretty sure that it’s the 8th time that i’ve seen that film but I still notice something new everytime. I could happily sit down and watch it over and over again because it’s such a brilliantly made film. Hanging out after however, I feel mildly tipsy. Listening to Anthony Green’s amazing album before bed time.

January 9th.

My sleeping pattern has probably taken a turn for the worse. I woke up at 2:45pm today with only 15 minutes to shower and leave for uni. I’m getting really annoyed with it, if someone can offer any remedies for trouble sleeping. I’m all ears! Good news is that my headache has gone after all of that.

First day back at uni was fun, nice to see people but I was more impressed with my grade for one project that I literally spent 2 hours on. 70% :) Bit too chuffed with that.

Plan for the rest of the night is to go to the gym and then tesco. I live such a boring lifestyle, it’s a wonder people read the shit that I write.

It’s also worth mentioning that my student loan has gone in so, now that i’m rich again, i’m going to buy a paddling pool, fill it with lime jelly and get two naked girls to wrestle in it whilst I throw money at them that I previously singed to light my cuban cigar…with a monocle.
